How are we green? Not only do we print in an Earth-friendly way, but we try to run our homes and our business using the same approach.
- All of our delivery vehicles are hybrids
- We reuse and recycle all of the consumable supplies for our business machines (and all of our machines use eco-solvent inks)
- We recycle all paper, plastic, glass, and aluminum foil that moves through our facility
- We print on recycled paper
- All of our computers are run from one centralized system – eliminating many computers and monitors permanently!
- Screen savers and other energy-saving methods are utilized to the fullest extent, and we make sure to shut everything down at night & on weekends/holidays.
- Paperless online proofing: we send your proofs electronically, saving trees and time. In fact, Oahu Print has wasted less than 400 sheets of 11” x 17” paper in the last four years, but made millions of impressions on our equipment during that time.
Conservation is important to us and we take it very seriously.
In January 2010, we were certified as a Green Business through the Institute of Green Business Certification. We’re also looking into tree planting to offset the amount of paper we use on an annual basis. In addition, we’re seeking out solar- and wind-powered energy generators for our facility; our ultimate goal is not merely to be carbon neutral, but to actually take more carbon out of the environment than we put in.
Oahu Print is a site that was born from strong client demand to have a local source right here in Hawaii that they could utilize for easy online ordering of their most common printing needs. We started building the site with our corporate clients in mind. It was a customized solution built on their needs. The common everyday letterhead, business cards, etc. could easily be stored and re-ordered by any authorized user within the company.
Our site has been very successfully and our corporate clients rave about the superior benefits our sites provide. With its simple user interface, ability to save & re-order past jobs, and the fact that they receive their jobs much faster while not having to leave the office, it is a no-brainer that we needed to offer this service the general public.
It was from here that we developed a web site for the general public in Hawaii to use for their online ordering of printed materials. Poster, flyers, rack cards, vehicle magnets, and more. The most common printed items can all be ordered directly from our web site. Oahu Print has many capabilities when it comes to printing. If you do not see what you are looking for on the site chances are it is an item that just has too many variables for online ordering. For example we can also print T-Shirts, Catalogs, Yearbooks, Vehicle Wraps, and much more. However there is just no way for us to sell these services online.
